Wireless Technology Forum Announces Rebranding to

Atlanta Innovation Forum to Reflect Broader Technology Focus

August Meeting to Feature Keynote, Fireside Chat with Innovation Trendwatcher and Author Michael Tchong

ATLANTA – (JULY 24, 2019) – Atlanta’s Wireless Technology Forum – an organization founded in 2004 to serve as a platform for the business of emerging wireless and mobile technologies – announced today that it is rebranding itself as Atlanta Innovation Forum. This change reflects the organization’s focus on broader innovations across many different industries.

“Wireless and mobility were powerful technological ideas 15 years ago when the Forum launched,” said Steve Bachman, founder and member of the board of directors. “While wireless technologies are still a driver in our world and we’ll continue to highlight how they enable different industries, the Forum aims to focus on all industries where a number of technologies are disrupting and enhancing how we work and play.”

As part of the rebranding, the organization’s two special interest groups, Women in Wireless and Mobile Marketing, will also be rebranded to reflect the new direction. Women in Wireless will become Women Driving Innovation, and Mobile Marketing will become Atlanta Marketing Innovation.

“Atlanta Innovation Forum is interested in attracting and engaging professionals of all ages from all industries that will be impacted by emerging technologies and innovations,” said Abi Murthy, president of the Forum. “Our desire is to create amazing learning, networking and career development experiences for our members and the community, to showcase diverse and dynamic speakers in some of Atlanta’s hottest venues and to help promote the innovation ecosystem in the community.”

August Meeting: Futurist and Author Michael Tchong
The August 2019 Atlanta Innovation Forum meeting will feature a keynote, How to Prepare for the Innovation Tsunami, and fireside chat with Michael Tchong, author of the new innovation management book Ubertrends – How Trends and Innovation Are Transforming Our Future.  Tchong tells us that an innovation tsunami is coming and that’s due to two ubertrends: Time Compression — the acceleration of life, and the Digital Lifestyle — the marriage of man and machine. Attendees will be treated to a fascinating vision of the future through a multidimensional interpretation of today’s rapidly evolving culture.

In addition to mobility and wireless, new technology areas of focus for the Forum will include artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT, blockchain, fintech, health data, cybersecurity and voice automation. Meeting formats will also evolve starting now and into 2020 as the Forum plans on delivering new varieties of meetings including hackathons, fireside chats, career fairs and “Hot Startup Nights.”

The August meeting will be held on Thursday, August 15, at Buckhead’s Atlanta Tech Village from 6-8 p.m. For more information on membership, meeting dates, times and speakers, visit www.atlantainnovationforum.org.
